Certified home compostable to the Australian Standard AS 5810 by the Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA), where facilities exist.
AS 5810 certification confirms that products:
- Biodegrade during home composting
- Disintegrate within the composting process
- Leave no harmful residues in the finished compost

Aqueous coated food packaging is a type of packaging material that uses water-based coatings instead of traditional solvent-based ones. The aqueous coating is used to make containers waterproof, so that beverages and foods do not leech into the paper. This ensures the conatiner retains it's strength and shape. Aqueous coatings are suitable for both hot and hot food and beverages.
- Home Compostable: After use, this product can simply be disposed of in a home compost system and will decompose back to organic matter within 6-8 weeks. They are also suitable for disposal in commercial composting facilities, where available.
- Environmental Friendliness: Aqueous coatings are generally considered more eco-friendly due to their lower VOC emissions.
- Improved Safety: They pose fewer health risks compared to solvent-based coatings.
- Enhanced Barrier Properties: They can provide effective barriers against moisture, grease, and oxygen.
- Plastic Free: No PE, PLA or CPLA used in the lining

If organics/industrial compost collections are available this means your Pakchain cup, lid, plate, fork & napkin can all be disposed of alongside your leftover chips.

Pakchain's home compostable range of products are designed to break down into organic matter in home compost piles. This means it can be safely added to a backyard compost bin or pile and will decompose naturally, without leaving behind harmful residues.
Are Pakchain products microwave or freezer safe?
Are Pakchain products microwave or freezer safe?
Pakchain's disposable catering supplies are all designed with same day/immediate foodservice in mind, not for long-term use. So we can't really say how our products perform in the freezer or microwave, as they haven't been designed or tested for it.
If you intend to use any Pakchain products outside of the intended purpose, we always recommend requesting samples and testing their suitability for yourself. The samples are free - just let us know what you're after.
Any clear PLA items are not microwave safe.

All orders placed before 2pm (Sydney time) are dispatched same day via road express courier. Deliveries happen during standard business hours between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Direct Freight Express shipments to metro east coast usually take 1 business day, while regional or cross-country transit takes 3 to 7 business days.
Australia Post Parcel Post shipments take 2 to 4 business days for NSW and 3 to 6 business days for the rest of Australia.
Please note we do not deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.
